Welcome to Dallas County!

We are proudly located in the heart of South-Central Arkansas. Dallas County is known for its timber, farming, and railroad industry. Dallas County consists of many rural towns including Fordyce, Princeton, Tulip, Dalark, Sparkman, Carthage and Farindale. Fordyce has a rich history as the county seat of Dallas County.

Fordyce was established in 1884, along the Cotton Belt Railroad, during the height of the railroad era. The railroad is celebrated every April during The Fordyce on the Cotton Belt Festival. Year round you can find the restored 101 steam engine on permanent display at the old Cotton Belt Railroad Depot. The steam engine serves as a great place to explore and take pictures.

Dallas County offers a vast variety of outdoor activities with its beautiful walking trails, city park, and a 9-hole golf course. Depending on the time of year, you can hunt for whitetail deer, wild hogs, turkey, and squirrel. Tri County Lake is just a short drive from town where you can fish off the newly added pier and enjoy many beautiful sunsets.

Dallas County also has many indoor activities, which include the Dallas County Library, The Dallas County Museum, Sports Annex as well as boutiques and businesses.
